TravelBrands gives $10,000 to Food Banks Canada
Canada’s leading travel company steps up to combat hunger this holiday season
TORONTO, ON – In the midst of the festive season, many families and individuals are grappling with unprecedented hardships and food insecurity. Recognizing the urgency of the situation, TravelBrands proudly announces its ongoing partnership with Food Banks Canada for the fourth consecutive year with a $10,000 donation.
In their commitment to foster positive change and make a meaningful difference in the lives of Canadians, TravelBrands wants to elevate their Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives by being actively part of the change. The organization has pledged to participate in a food and fundraising drive as part of expanding their partnership with Food Banks Canada. This initiative will also allow employees to learn and have a positive impact on the community.
“We stand behind the impactful work of Food Banks Canada in supporting Canadians facing food insecurity. Their commitment to ensuring that those in need have access to meals is commendable,” says Nathalie Tanious, President & CEO, TravelBrands. “As we navigate this season, it is crucial that we unite to alleviate the weight on individuals and families most affected. We are confident that our joint effort will make a difference for those relying on additional support this year.”
“Food banks usage rose to its highest levels this year across Canada, with almost two million visits in one month alone,” says Claudia Galella, Director of Corporate Development and Partnerships at Food Banks Canada. “Food banks in every region of Canada are stretched to their limits with this rising demand, which is expected to remain high as more and more people count on food banks to help them cope with rising costs. Due to this heightened need, we are very grateful for our partnership with TravelBrands. This donation comes at an important time. Thank you TravelBrands for your support and for helping us work towards our mission of relieving hunger today and preventing hunger tomorrow.”

About Food Banks Canada
Food Banks Canada provides national leadership to relieve hunger today and prevent need tomorrow in collaboration with the food bank network from coast-to-coast-to-coast. For 40 years, food banks have been dedicated to helping Canadians living with food insecurity. Over 4,750 food banks and community organizations come together to serve our most vulnerable neighbours who in March of last year made nearly 2 million visits to these organizations, according to our 2023 HungerCount Report. Over the past 10 years, as a system we’ve sourced and shared over 1.4 billion pounds of food, and Food Banks Canada shared nearly $168 million in funding to help maximize collective impact and strengthen local capacity –
while advocating for reducing the need for food banks. Our vision is clear: create a Canada where no one goes hungry. Visit foodbankscanada.ca to learn more.
